Use the matrix below to choose the basic style and force level needed for your electric actuator application. Note that higher force actuators are generally slower in speed than actuators with lower force output, and vice versa. This is due to the gearing down of high force actuators to achieve higher load levels.
Actuators in this section are "low accuracy" type, with brushed 12VDC or 24VDC motors and ACME drive screws for simple up/down applications. General drive types include spur gear, planetary gear, and worm screw styles. Most have built-in limit switches, and many have position feedback that may be used for multiple actuator synchronization or rough position monitoring/control. Burr Heavy Duty Electric Linear Actuators also have optional AC motor voltages.
Contact us or see our other actuator sections for higher accuracy electric actuators with ball screw or belt drive, as well as servo, stepper, or brushless DC motors.
